compLexity are through to the Upper semis of the ESEA finals following a 2-0 victory over cuLtivation (16-11 on de_inferno_se, 16-7 on de_mirage_ce). Starting off on the Counter-Terrorists side, compLexity looked a bit off the pace in the early stages of the game. They lost the pistol round after winning a 2-on-3 situation as they did not have enough time to defuse the bomb, and then went for a buy in the third round, but the move did not pay off, giving cuLtivation a comfortable lead and complete control over the money system. cuLtivation continued picking up round after round and were eventually up 6-0. coL then responded by pulling one back, but their opponents immediately regained control of the game and picked up an impressive 8-1 lead. It really looked like the map was going to go to cuLtivation (you have to keep in mind that they were on the T side), but then coL picked themselves up and showed a completely new side of them, turning the score around as they picked up 14 rounds in a row. Danny "fRoD" Montaner’s side still managed to string a few rounds together, but then coL won the final round they needed to run out 16-11 winners and take the lead in the tie.
Next up was mirage, where compLexity, playing on the Terrorist side, got off to a flying start and strolled to an early 6-0 lead. cuLtivation tried to respond and grabbed three rounds in quick succession, but coL returned to the driving seat and went into the break up 11-4. cuLtivation came out very strongly after the break and won the pistol round, showing just how strong the Glock is, and both anti-eco rounds. The score was now 11-7, and it looked cuLtivation had this round in the bag after planting the bomb on the B site, but Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert said "no" and won the round when he was left alone against four opponents. That round broke cuLtivation's spirits and powered coL to win the next four rounds to pick up a 2-0 victory and move on in the tournament. In the next round they will take on Curse, the top seed from the United States. ESEA Invite Season 14 Global FinalsBest of 2
