Ninjas in Pyjamas will lock horns with VeryGames in the grand final of the AMD Sapphire CS:GO Invitational following a 2-0 victory over BuyKey in the semi-finals. The first map of the tie was de_nuke_ve, where NiP began on the Terrorist side. Despite the fact that it is widely regarded as a CT map, it was NiP who came out the brighter, winning the opening three rounds of the match. BuyKey then managed to get a round of their own, Pierre "NpK" Henkinet's well-timed grenade taking down the last two NiP men. The French side added one more round to their tab, reducing the deficit to 3-2, but then NiP regained control of the match and were able to secure a promising 10-5 lead at the break, despite BuyKey's reaction in the latter stages of the first half. BuyKey got dangerously close to NiP after the interval, winning the first three rounds to make it 10-8, but the Swedish side kept their cool and upped the pace to win the map 16-8.
Having won the knife round on de_dust2_se, BuyKey opted to start on the highly-favoured Terrorist side, but their push onto A in the pistol round was easily stopped by NiP's rotating players, who took control of the bombsite after the bomb had been planted. While on eco in the second round, BuyKey were able to plant, which gave them just enough money to make a full buy in the third round. But that was as far as they went, with NiP completely taking control of proceedings as Terrorists to win the map 16-6 and move on to the tournament decider, where they will tackle VeryGames for a fourth time.
